Duck Artist Information

Duck Headshot/Book Cover
PROJECT COMPLETE

Frederico - thank you for being a part of this project.

Here are some details for Image 1. Let me know if there's a particular bit of info you'd like to have.

----This image is going to be the cover of the book and the main image for the first publicity campaign.

---The overall concept of the book is that people are pulled forward in time a few hundred thousand years. They find themselves in a laboratory with alien beings experimenting on them. After a bit they get free but then find themselves in even more of a pickle. Duck is the only child pulled forward.

----Image one is a head shot of Duck, the main character of the book. The background is blurred out and while the background is there, it's not really recognizable. That having been said, what is behind her (and blurry/unrecognizable) can be based on any of the following. Use whatever works best for you.

Dark tunnel with moldy walls
Garden with odd plants and a blue sky
Interior hallway with white walls tinged with green

If you decide to not use a background at all, that's ok too. Up to you.

---Duck's hair is black frizzy, curly, and cut fairly short. The length in my crude sketch is appropriate.

---Duck's skin is a deep brown. She is African-American.

---Duck's eyes are mostly brown, with flecks of color in the pupil. Colors are red, blue, green, yellow. The colors have meaning in the book.

----Duck herself is about 5 years old. She has been through a lot. She is wearing a grey robe with a hood. The hood is down. This first image is a head shot so not a lot of the robe is seen.

---Duck is usually quiet and withdrawn, doing her best not to draw attention to herself.

---Duck's expression is hopeful and open with a tiny bit of concern/worry/caution. We can talk about this if I'm being unclear (quite likely)
